Before there was Sheair Butters, there was Essence.
In 2015, two weeks before her eighteenth birthday, Essence was diagnosed with leukemia. Almost overnight, life became centered around appointments, treatments and getting through one day at a time.
Treatment changed more than her daily routine. It also changed her skin and scalp. Her skin became extremely dry and sensitive, and products she had once used were no longer giving her the comfort she needed.
As mother and daughter, we were not trying to create a skincare company. We were simply trying to care for Essence’s changing skin.
We began learning about ingredients and experimenting with simple combinations at home. Nilotica Shea Butter, Shea Nut Oil and Royal Jelly became the foundation of a formula that felt rich, gentle and dependable.
That formula became My Everything Cream.
What began as something made for Essence soon became something we wanted to share with others. In 2018, Sheair Butters was born from that experience and from our belief that skincare does not need to be complicated to make a meaningful difference.
Essence’s journey did not end with the creation of one product. Her experiences continued to shape the way we approached every formula that followed. Her skin taught us to value consistency, carefully chosen ingredients and products made to support skin through real changes over time.
Today, Essence is not simply part of our history. She is a co-founder of Sheair Butters and the living inspiration behind the products we continue to create.
