How I Successfully Beat a Debt Collector

While recently browsing a social media site, I commented on a post about credit repair and received tons of messages asking me for further details. In response to those requests, I want to share the method I used to successfully get a debt collector to drop their case against me, and beg me not to sue them. ⁣⁣⁣⁣

I’ll try and make this quick.⁣⁣⁣⁣

Many of you know my daughter was diagnosed with cancer back in 2015. Well, that life-altering experience ended up leaving me almost financially destitute. I defaulted on several credit cards, and well, you all know the rest. The vultures started circling and next thing you know, I am being sued by debt collectors. The first one I agreed to pay off. The second one I decided to fight.⁣⁣⁣⁣

I joined the forum at Credit Info Center and put up a post requesting assistance fighting the debt collector in court. I was advised to request BINDING ARBITRATION, a method I was told would most likely work for me because here is the key: Debt collection companies have to pay $500 a day to go to Binding Arbitration, while you, the consumer, can plead poverty and request a waiver, making the process free for you. Long story short, debt collectors aren’t going to pay anything to collect small amounts of money, usually less than $5,000.⁣⁣⁣⁣

While I originally didn’t believe the advice I’d been given, I did as I was told and the collection agency did indeed drop their case against me. The link below is page 5 of the post I put up requesting assistance. My username was “Miss Abbie.” Further down the page I even uploaded the document showing my win.⁣⁣⁣⁣

Here is another awesome thing that happened about a year after I beat that particular debt collector. Other debt collectors, who had not yet sued me, ditched my debt and my credit report was cleared of all defaults. I got a letter in the mail stating they had been removed from my credit report. Debt collectors follow one after the other. They know when you are sued and if you settled. Once they saw I beat one of them, they knew not to try me.⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
God is good.⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Hope this helps someone. 🙂⁣⁣⁣⁣

Here is the link to my victory, which was back in 2019.⁣⁣⁣⁣
