Living with Dark Circles

|Essence White

Dark circles have shadowed my eyes for as long as I can recall. They became a source of quiet insecurity, made more pronounced by how thin and vulnerable the skin beneath my eyes has always been—the kind that reveals everything.

After my cancer treatment, Mom and I started exploring what my skin truly needed. We weren't looking for miracles or overnight transformations. Instead, we paid attention to how my skin responded to gentle, deliberate care. That exploration became the foundation for My Everything Cream.

I built my routine around concentrated natural ingredients—Shea Nilotica, Shea Nut Oil, Royal Jelly—chosen for how they made my skin feel rather than what they promised to fix. Daily application mattered more than any single product's potency. Small, repeated acts of care accumulated in ways I hadn't anticipated.

The photographs here span several months. The first captures my under-eye area before I committed to this practice; the second shows the same area after weeks of consistent attention. I know skin behaves differently for each person, but documenting my experience felt important.

Dark circles don't vanish completely, and mine haven't either. But discovering how to nurture fragile skin with tenderness and persistence gave me something more valuable than cosmetic improvement—it gave me peace with my reflection. That comfort is worth more than perfection ever could be.
