If you are a fan of hidden-camera pranks and Taraji P. Henson, you are in for a treat. The Oscar-nominated actress has joined forces with Village Roadshow Unscripted Television and Candid Camera Inc. to host and executive produce a new version of the iconic Candid Camera series. She will co-host the show with Peter Funt, the son of the original creator and producer Allen Funt, who has been involved in the franchise for more than 50 years.

Candid Camera is the longest-running entertainment series in television history, dating back to 1948. The show features unsuspecting people caught in hilarious and sometimes awkward situations by hidden cameras, and then revealed with the famous catchphrase "Smile, you're on Candid Camera". The show has had several iterations over the decades, with different hosts and networks, but the core concept has remained the same: to celebrate humanity and good sportsmanship with a lot of laughs.

Taraji P. Henson is no stranger to comedy, having starred in hit movies like What Men Want and Think Like a Man, as well as the award-winning series Empire. She is also an executive producer of Peace of Mind with Taraji, a talk show that addresses mental health issues in the Black community. Henson said in a statement that she was excited to join Peter Funt and Village Roadshow in spreading joy to others with this modern-day reinterpretation of Candid Camera.

Peter Funt, who has produced and hosted more than 200 episodes of Candid Camera since taking over from his father, said that there couldn't be a better time to bring back the show, as people need stress-free smiles more than ever. He also praised Henson as a perfect partner for this next phase of the show, saying that she has brought endless joy and laughter to fans throughout her career.

The new version of Candid Camera is currently in development and does not have a network or premiere date yet. However, fans can expect to see Henson and Funt pull off some hilarious pranks on unsuspecting people, while also showcasing their chemistry and charisma as co-hosts. The show will also feature some celebrity guests and familiar faces from previous versions of Candid Camera.
